Alicia Perkins in a private advisory setting

Executive Advisory

The career is working. The interpretation of it is not keeping up.

Private executive advisory for senior leaders deciding how their experience should translate into greater authority, stronger opportunities, and what comes next.

Apply for Executive Advisory

Private advisory. By application. I advise a small number of executives at a time.

What we actually work on

Your experience has already created a record. Now we determine what that record should support next.

The work starts by looking at the career you have actually built.

  1. 01What has your experience proven?
  2. 02What are you currently trusted to own?
  3. 03Where is the business value behind your work being understood too narrowly?
  4. 04What level of authority and responsibility does your record support now?
  5. 05What should the next several years add to your career?

From there, we determine how your experience should be positioned, articulated, and used in the decisions ahead.

The work itself

Four areas. One direction.

01

Position

Understand what your record currently says about you, what you have become known for, and what that interpretation is making easier or harder for you to own next.

02

Value

Identify the business value behind your experience and articulate it at the level of judgment, authority, and impact the work actually required.

03

Direction

Determine what your experience should create next, including the level of responsibility, authority, mandate, and opportunities that would meaningfully add to the career you have already built.

04

Application

Use that positioning in the decisions and situations that matter now, including scope conversations, leadership changes, internal opportunities, external opportunities, executive conversations, and decisions about what deserves your next few years.

What we build together

Six pieces of work that change what your career can ask for.

Each one is developed with you during the engagement and stays useful long after it ends.

Executive Positioning Analysis

You stop guessing how you are read at the top.

A clear assessment of what your career already makes believable about you, what you are most strongly associated with now, and where your value is being understood far more narrowly than the work deserved.

Target Role & Opportunity Map

You know which opportunities are worth your next few years.

A defined view of the level, mandates, and situations that make sense from here, so you can tell the difference between a genuine expansion of your career and a better paid version of what you have already proven.

Executive Value Articulation

You can explain your value at the level you operate.

Language that carries the judgment, scale, authority, and business outcomes behind your experience, so decision makers hear an executive rather than a list of responsibilities.

Executive Evidence Bank

You never scramble for the right example again.

The decisions, results, and leadership moments that most convincingly demonstrate what you are ready to own now, organized and ready for the conversation in front of you.

Executive Market Narrative

You sound like the same leader in every room.

One coherent way to describe who you are, what you have built, and what you are ready for, holding steady across executive conversations, internal opportunities, recruiter calls, and your visible presence.

Opportunity Decision Framework

You decide with criteria instead of pressure.

A clear standard for weighing authority, mandate, scope, and future options, so you can accept, decline, or renegotiate knowing exactly what the choice adds to your position.

By the end of the engagement

You leave with more than a recommendation.

You should be able to answer every one of these, in your own words, with evidence behind it.

01

What does my experience support now?

02

What am I currently trusted and known for?

03

How do I articulate the business value behind what I have built?

04

Which evidence from my record should shape how I am understood now?

05

What should the next opportunity add to my position, authority, and options?

06

How do I evaluate whether a role, mandate, or opportunity actually moves my career in the direction I want?

How Alicia works

This is working advisory.

We look at your actual career, your record, the organization around you, the opportunities in front of you, and the decisions that could materially affect what comes next.

Our live sessions are used for the deeper strategic work. Between sessions, you have private advisory access so we can continue working as new information surfaces, language needs to be refined, an organizational situation changes, or an opportunity needs to be evaluated.

You are not leaving each conversation with another set of ideas to figure out alone. The positioning, language, evidence, and decision framework are developed with you throughout the engagement.

Alicia Perkins, founder of The Positioning House

About Alicia Perkins

More than a decade inside the decisions executives never get to see.

I spent more than a decade in executive recruiting, placement, and talent management before building The Positioning House. I have advised more than 400 leaders privately and spent years watching how organizations evaluate executives, how senior hiring decisions get made, what causes leaders to be trusted with more, and where strong careers quietly get stuck.

I wrote The Executive Read so executives could understand what happens on the other side of those decisions. Executive Advisory is where I apply that experience directly to yours.

Apply

You can stop interpreting the room after it has already decided.

You enter with a clear assessment of how you are being seen, and you leave each decision with a position, the language to carry it, and evidence building toward what comes next.

The application is short. Six questions and your contact details, about five minutes.

I review every application personally and advise a small number of executives at a time. If it fits, the next step is a conversation, and the exact shape of the engagement is decided there.
